Performance-based Incentives (PBI)
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) Translating Research into Action (TRAction) project hosted a meeting in June 2012 to review performance measures and research relevant for programs that administer financial incentives to improve the quality of maternal-newborn care in low-resource countries. The meeting convened experts from a range of backgrounds and included recipients of two TRAction research grants to study programs that use performance-based incentives (PBI) to improve the quality of maternal-newborn care in two countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
