As the Principal Investigator for TRAction sponsored research on household air pollution in rural Uganda, Theresa was responsible for the design and implementation of all research activities, overseeing all research staff, managing all project partnerships including with UC Berkeley, Cornell University, CIRCODU in Uganda, and consultants Berkeley Air Monitoring Group, and leading the analysis and dissemination of all results.

Dr. Theresa Beltramo is an experienced Energy Economist with expertise in macroeconomic and energy forecasting as well as microeconomic applied research in the field of household renewable energy. Dr. Beltramo brings relevant experience from the private sector, multilateral development agencies, and applied field research from previous employment including, but not limited to, Chevron Corporation where she was a Senior Macroeconomics Consultant in Corporate Strategy, the World Bank where she was a full-time staff Economics Research Assistant in Country Operations, and the Vice President at the Center for European Law and Economics leading efforts to push the envelope in innovative ways industry can increase renewable energy generation. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, a Masters degree in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and a Bachelors degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
